Cystic lymphangioma of the small bowel mesentery in a child
A five-year-old girl presented with paroxystic abdominal pain, vomiting and constipation. She had no previous surgical history or significant family history. The physical examination was normal. Ultrasonography revealed an abdominal multiloculated septated cystic mass. CT-scan showed a 125x35x71mm abdominopelvic cystic mass. It was multilocular with polycyclic edges molding the intestinal loops (Figure 1). The patient was operated on with laparoscopy-assisted procedure. Exploration showed a yellowish butterfly-shaped multilocular cystic mass that originated from the small-bowel mesentery with small bowel dilatation.
