Comparing Serum Matrix Metalloproteinase-7 in Parenteral Nutrition-Associated Liver Disease and Biliary Atresia

In this cross-sectional study. Serum matrix metalloproteinase-7 (MMP-7) levels were significantly lower in jaundiced infants with parenteral nutrition-associated liver disease compared with those with confirmed biliary atresiaSerum MMP-7 may aid in excluding biliary atresia, and thus may minimize invasive testing in infants with a history of parenteral nutrition.
