We recognize that there was some redundancy in the methods used, however, it is important to note that although different manufacturers may use similar methodology for measuring an analyte, it does not necessitate that the method will be impacted by interferences in the same way. The automated chemistry platforms evaluated in our study were selected on the basis of those analyzers that are most commonly used in clinical laboratories in the United States, as evidenced by the College of American Pathologists surveys.
