4,000!
I have to say I never expected The PediaBlog would have a run like this. Now here we are, more than 10 years and 4,000 posts later (the latter milestone was reached this past Saturday) and still trying to communicate important topics unique to pediatrics in “an informative and, hopefully, entertaining way,” as we envisioned our mission in The PediaBlog’s very first post on August 20, 2012:
Our target audience is varied: parents who expect helpful and accurate answers to the variety of questions we get in our offices every day; their children (our patients) who seek the answers to different questions communicated in different (and, perhaps, more tech-savvy) ways; grandparents, who may be parenting two or even three generations of children (!); other pediatricians and physicians who may search for topics in pediatric medicine that interest them; and practically anyone else who is interested in children’s health.
The PediaBlog wouldn’t exist today without the support and contributions of so many at Pediatric Alliance before and AHN Pediatrics today. Although I stopped working in the office (Chartiers/McMurray) seeing patients in 2017, I still remind myself of the privilege that’s been granted to me, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to publish The PediaBlog every single day with the support and encouragement of my colleagues and friends at Allegheny Health Network, and from readers like you. Thank you!
Will The PediaBlog make it to the next milepost of 5,000? Stay tuned and we’ll all find out together on our website and on Facebook — on November 14, 2025!
Onward!
